41. Consultant Services

Separately from the presentation and workshops made available in Topic #20, the following list of consultant services are available.  They are based on the author’s 49 years of experience in education including teaching, being a K-12 and vocational district superintendent, teaching in four colleges, planning and supervising construction of six new schools, evaluating the condition of over 50 school buildings, evaluating and recommending management structures in numerous districts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, working with school staff in states across the country, and serving as K-college Director of Educational Research for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Available services are:

Service A:  Seminar/Workshop Follow-up
Providing follow-up evaluations and support seminars on presentations described in the Topic #20 list.

Service B:  Evaluating Management
Reviewing and recommending on management structure, staffing, and operation in a school or district.

Service C:  Board-Superintendent Communications
Evaluating and recommending on the communication procedures used by a School Board and its superintendent.

Service D:  Educational Specifications
Preparing a school staff and advisors to develop powerful educational specifications for a new or remodeled school.  A manual is provided as part of staff training.  NOTE:  Separate or added assistance is available on defining concepts for a successful and powerful set of vocational-technical programs and/or career guidance.

Service E:  Staff Evaluation Procedures
Helping a school or district develop constructive evaluation procedures that promote teamwork and continuous improvement in student learning.

Service F:  Professional Growth
Analyzing and recommending on procedures used to develop an annual professional growth program in a school or district.

Service G:  Converting to a Total Quality School
Working with a principal and teaching staff to create a TOTAL QUALITY SCHOOL. This is a school on any K-12 level in which:

  1. Every staff member and student is involved in continuous improvement activities and
  2. Teacher-student teams implement a reserached SYSTEM for continuous inprovement in learning achievement and
  3. Administrators are fully involved as facilitators and supporters of the project or it is not pursued.
